Me and Ayce_123 had a bit of a dispute about this in school, he says the Beatles but I say the Stones.
Who do you prefer?

I dunno, actually. The Beatles were pretty much THE inspiration to bands like Metallica, plus Mr. P likes them Oh ya, and STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER, MOFO'ERS.

The Beatles, in my opinion, sound poppy and old-fashioned quite frankly.

To add to the bad points to The Beatles, they wear their guitars too high, quite silly.

Have any of you lads even heard "Satisfaction" by the Stones? Destroys any song the Beatles ever made in my opinion.

oh c'mon here people, i'm not a huge fan of either of them but the beatles have the edge, mainly because they did inspire most bands of today. Velocity, im suprised, u say rolling stones even after u read the anthony keidis autobiography? in the words of keidis himself, the fans of rolling stones are people like lawyers n stuff who, lets face it, dont know the meaning of rock. i actually have a stones album here sumwhere, im going to burn it as soon as i see it

If you notice, the majority of people who said The Beatles either can't give a reason or just purely don't know why...
Which I think (I could be wrong) is because they know the Beatles are maybe even more popular than the Stones so they're just going with the croud.

I think it's mainly because most bands (when stating their inspirations for starting their band) are the Beatles.
