Thanks lads, I just used some grunge brushes on the background in 10 layers, changing brush each time and applying soft light, then pasted the character in and put a vector mask on his layer then went over it very quickly and did the edges with a grunge brush (wide long one) and put the saturation to -70 (not clicking colorize) and then put some colour ballance and stuff on there.
