Which do you prefer? I'm going to say old...the delights of Anthrax, Twisted Sister, Judas Priest, Metallica and Slayer..whereas nu is Linkin Park, Korn, Slipknot and the rest of that bullsh*t.

C'mon you forgot Van Halen dudes.... The best guitarist in the 80's. Download: Van Halen-Eruption or Van Halen-Running With The Devil. Trust me.
Anthrax truely awesome drumming and some flowing solos.
And of course Metallica the best all round metal group ever, heck make that best band on Earth.
