My Chemical Romance bassist Mikey Way has quit the band for the time being to enjoy married life, reprots GIGWise.

Mikey was married in early March to Alicia Simmons and had his brother and band frontman Gerard Way as his best man.

The band have now decided to let Mikey have an indefinite break from the band to spend time with his new wife. A replacement bassist will be found for the time being.

Speaking on MCR official website, Gerard Way wrote: "The band has decided to give him (Mikey) and his wife a much needed break from the road to start a life and have a proper honeymoon and do all the things a newlywed couple should do.

"I'm very proud to announce my brother's recent marriage. Watching him grow up into a man and finding love makes me the happiest brother alive. I know this is upsetting news, as it is for us, but we will continues to tour with a temporary replacement until he has situated himself in his new life."

Quite shocked, tbh.

He's coming back.

"Indefinite" normally means "don't expect to see him back soon/quit". I mean, I'm no music critique, so I don't know the likelyhood he'll come back, but yah, if the new bassist is better, they might not want him back, despite him being Gerard's brother.

yeah, but everyone hates Bob, yaknow? Mikey was there from the beginning cos he wanted to be in on it, and even though Matt sucked the original lineup shouldnt change that mucyh.
