To keep myself awake, I will now write a short essay on why Friday the 13th is unlucky...

Friday has always been an unlucky day...to start with, Adam and Eve were kicked out of the Garden of Eden on a Friday...then there was the flood, within which it rained for 40 days and 40 nights. This also began on a Friday. Jesus was also hung on the cross on a Friday.

The number 13 is considered unclucky by many different cultures, but for some, such as the Chinese, the number 13 is considered lucky. There are a number of infamous serial killers that have thirteen letters in their names. These include Jack the Ripper...and a number of others, but I'm too tired to remember.

The most unlucky country in the world would therefore be America, for the following reasons:-

America originally consisted of thirteen colonies, and thirteen people signed the Decloration of Independence. The American flag has thirteen stripes. Then there's the Dollar Bill. On the left hand side of the not there is a pyramid, this pyramid has thirteen steps. On the right hand side of the note there is an eagle, this eagle holds thirteen arrows in its tallons and above its head is a badge with thirteen stars on it. There's a sentence on the bill (some latin) that is the countries motto. This sentence contains thirteen letters.

And now for some statistics (well, two anyway):-

On Friday the 13th, less people drive their cars, but more people will crash
There is always at least one Friday the 13th per year, but there can be as many as three

Well, there's my essay, well I say essay, it was more of an informative paragraph...
